Why Do Christians Need Deliverance and Inner Healing After Receiving Salvation?

We must understand that the basic form of deliverance, it is the deliverance of a man spirit concerning salvation. Salvation in Greek is sótéria which denotes the term deliverance. The usage regarding our salvation includes welfare, prosperity, deliverance, preservation, salvation, safety.

Ephesians 2:1 reveals prior to us coming to Jesus Christ and making him our Lord we were dead in our sins and trespasses. Jesus wasn’t speaking a physical but spiritual death since we are supernatural beings that serve a supernatural God that can only be worshipped through spirit and truth. We must agree with the way he minister through His Holy Spirit to our spirit and continuance of the truth being revealed as we align with Him.

The first experience of deliverance is to be rescued through removing the blinders off our spiritual eyes and ability to hear his word and his voice which correlates with Luke 4:18 that describes setting the captives free and healing the brokenhearted.

Deliverance Ministry is the casting out demons/devils through the authority given to us by Jesus as well as demonstrated in Jesus Ministry on the Earth. He not only drove out/cast out demons, but he trained his disciples to cast them out and that we as followers of Jesus as believers would partake in this inheritance. Jesus provided this was one of the signs to follow those who believed in him. Demons/devils are here to cause oppression and torment to our wounded souls as a result of the rebellion in Heaven and then the disobedience in the garden with Adam and Eve. Humanity has sin in our spirit, soul, and body that needs to be processed through applying the word of God and confronting strongholds and roots from life.

Mark 16:17

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;”

Inner Healing is Healing the broken hearted implies we are dealing with how to handle the damage inflicted through life experiences, parental upbringings, environments, relations, and other factors that have caused our heart to become broken. Unstable emotions, thought patterns, behaviors, and decisions that does harm and hinder our progress to walking in the life Heaven has predestined for us. The soul deals with matters of the heart and mind and as stated earlier the terms have been used interchangeably because defining the soul in Greek differs from its definition in Hebrew. Our souls have been fragmented through life experiences, upbringings, trauma, and pain that resides not only as a result of sin in the bloodline but also wounds inflicted upon us by others and even ourselves.

I want to encourage you there is a remedy for experiencing deliverance and inner healing.

Psalm 107:20

“He sent his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”

The Word of God and His Spirit Is What Brings Deliverance and Healing to Our Soul and Body!

Hebrews 4:12

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

John 16:13

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak and he will show you things to come.”

2 Timothy 3:15-17

“And that from a child you has known the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise utno salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect(mature) thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

Proverbs 4:20-23 provides how the word of God is life and health to all flesh that keeps in alignment with the word, will, and ways of God.

John 14:6

“Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the father, but by me.”

The Lord is not only concerned about your soul being healed but your complete man being made whole as we reflect the image of the Godhead.

1 Thessalonians 5:23

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Another Translation provides: Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [that is, separate you from profane and vulgar things, make you pure and whole and undamaged—consecrated to Him—set apart for His purpose]; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept complete and [be found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Deliverance and Inner Healing is required because our soul isn’t processed and filtered which requires us to embark on a journey not a one-time event. We want all our problems solved when we come to Jesus; however, we as believers must understand that although Jesus paid it all we must do the work of dealing with our humanity through a life yielded to the Holy Spirit and receiving the adoption into God’s Kingdom as a child. We must not compare our process to others because we all have faced different challenges. Our healing journey is not only for us, but also for God to send us to others to equip and walk them through the Journey with Jesus ad he has sent others to us and of course himself.
